Event description: This early-evening (5-8 pm) party for ~200 guests has a birthday theme focused on building strong children.  With heavy hors d’oeuvres, music, drinks, and fundraising games (balloon game, 50-50 raffle, silent auction, go fish), the event will celebrate with gratitude Frederick Douglass’ life and legacy for the children of the Mid-Shore, and provide much-needed support for the Mid-Shore Early Learning Center. See photos from our previous fundraiser here.

Mid-Shore Early Learning Center (MSELC): The Mid-Shore Early Learning Center’s mission is to provide premier child care and education for children from infancy to age 12. MSELC is a 501c3 organization and is accredited by the Maryland State Department of Education, a hard-earned recognition requiring the highest level of care. With highly-trained staff members who have extensive experience in child care, a strong community of more than 40 families, and a Board composed of staff and parents, MSELC is uniquely able to support and build strong children and families. MSELC has successfully transitioned into a fully functioning and fully accredited nonprofit child care center. The final step in the pathway to independence is to secure a property on which to build a solid foundation and a bright future for the Center and its children. The fundraising event as part of Frederick Douglass 200 would be an important step in the Center’s push toward solidifying the stable, consistent, and leading-edge care that we provide for children and families on the Mid-Shore.
